You get "sticky" objects (like a navigation bar which stays at the top of the page as users scroll), extra animations, advanced widgets (ecommerce, charts, photo sliders), and a pile of extra drawing and graphics tools. These include tools to create presentations, animations (Flash and GIF) and single page "SuperSites". And once you've finished, the program will put the site online for you, either at your own web host or using the 2GB of free (for one year) web space included with the package.Īs this is the "Premium" edition, there are many extras. You can even build a site from scratch if the bundled templates don't appeal. If you'd like to add some interactivity to your site, you'll appreciate the program's widgets. These can embed YouTube videos on your pages, Google Maps, Facebook Like and Twitter buttons, media players, contact forms, news feeds and more.Īll of this can be further tweaked or rearranged as necessary. Just drag and drop an item onto your page and customise it to suit your needs. These can immediately be enhanced with your preferred buttons, headings, navigation bars, photos, icons, movies, MP3s, PDFs and more. The program comes with a host of professionally-produced multipage responsive web designs (only a few are editable in the trial, though). Here is a link to a discussion about Flash.Xara Web Designer Premium 365 is a template-based design tool which makes it quick and easy to create quality websites. This Flash thing is not a Magix or Xara problem, it is with everything - all websites.Īs well, you should be aware that there is a Xara forum called TalkGraphics with many very knowledgeable Xara users. Your problem is only about having flash coding or files on your website. Access to the online web tools is via completely different portals - Magix online, or Xara online.Īs far as I know, neither Magix nor Xara has indicated that they would be stopping hosting. You must know which one you purchased from and which one is currently hosting your web site. Xara offers 1 year of M-hosting along with the purchase of Xara Designer Pro X and Xara Web Designer Premium. Later on, Xara also started hosting and the offer for Magix hosting was dropped. This was actually offered with Xara when I first started with Magix hosting. I'll answer some of your questions, John EB will likely answer the others. Please forgive my fumbling about as I try to effectively communicate what I Lynne, I'm not an IT person, so I lack the terminology needed to communicate this well. Thank you, in advance, for your patience. I obviously don't recall how to properly convert or place this file into my design so that it plays properly when published on the web. It worked in Chrome but not in any other browser. By "drag", I mean I tried to drag the newly converted file onto the page I am designing and then I previewed it on the web in both Chrome and IE. I' want to convert this file into a format hat will work in the other browsers. If you went to the web address that I posted using IE as a browser (hosted by MAGIX) and navigated to the Core tab, you would see what I mean. I created variations of that file, so that they would flash at different times when the page is opened. It's a silly little file that, when the website is opened, looks like a small flashing jewel. I created a simple animation in XARA Web Design Premium (V11) into a swf file that is held in a flash placeholder.
